Protective Effect of Genseng Against Polychlorinated Biphenyls Injury on Rat

Abstract
|
|
|
The protective effect of panax ginseng on the toxicity of PCB were examined and following results were obtained.
PCB intoxicated rats showed the normalizing tendeney in body weight and liver weight and hematological value.
The panax ginseng was shown protective effect on PCB induced hepatotoxicity by evaluation of inhabitory.
In rats fed on the diet PCB the weight and TBA value of liver increased significantly as compared with that of the´ control rats. panax ginseng content in the liver decrease significantly with PCB administration.
The panax ginseng am eliorated the elevated levels of serum cholesterol sGOT.sGOT and TBA value of PCB intoxicated.
This suggests the possibility that vitamin A, panax ginseng may play a role in the detoxication of PCB.
